About the oc
Our youth center, The OC, is a safe, welcoming space where youth from crisis can come and get help. When someone walks through the door, they can easily access healthy meals, showers, laundry, and other supports designed to meet their immediate needs.
Overcoming a crisis doesn’t happen in an instant, which is why The OC is the hub for all of our operations and programming. After meeting the immediate needs of our youth, we start building a community around them to inspire growth through coaching & mentoring, Life Skills classes, educational and employment support, and community activities.
role DEscription
Reporting into the OC Manager, the OC Resident Life Facilitator helps foster a welcoming, positive environment for youth entering the OC and aids in maintaining operations to ensure the environment, supports, and day-to-day activities are impactful and effective for youth from crisis through:
Operational Support - Assist in the day-to-day operations, cooking, cleaning, and maintaining of the OC, contributing to a welcoming, trauma-sensitive, and safe environment for youth from crisis.
2. Youth Engagement - Build healthy and appropriate relationships with youth, and facilitate positive daily programming including activities and community building events that engage youth.
3. Cross-Program Support - In cooperation with the entire Immerse Arkansas team, create a safety net throughout the various programs of Immerse to ensure all youth receive the best possible care and support, responding timely and appropriately to individual needs.
4. Team and Personal Development - Continually seek opportunities for growth, understanding, and balance to maintain health, both individually and as a member of the Immerse Arkansas team. Promote teamwork through collaboration, support, and communication.
Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma required. Bachelor's Degree preferred in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Human/Social Services or related field.
Experience: 2+ years experience working with youth from crisis (in or aging out of foster care, adopted, homeless, trafficking victims, etc.)
Additional Requirements:
Basic skills for cooking, building cleaning, and routine maintenance work.
Ability to apply conflict resolution and problem solving skills in the event of tense situations or to defuse potentially volatile situations.
Comfortable interacting with youth in informal settings.
Strong understanding of human development, trauma, and the process of healing for those with trauma and/or be committed to deepening understanding.
Has a strong desire to walk with youth ages 14-24 no matter what they are going through.
Wants to do “whatever it takes” to see youth and families succeed.
Must have a driver’s license and/or reliable transportation; able to travel within the assigned region daily.
Must maintain current certification in CPR, First Aid, and as determined by the program.
Complete at least 30 hours of training annually, relevant to the position.
Must successfully complete the required background checks and drug screening.
Adherence to an ethical code as it relates to the particular professional field.
Must demonstrate a commitment to the value of cultural competency.
Must be willing to work onsite as this is not a remote position.

Immerse Arkansas was founded in 2010 with the mission of helping transform youth from crisis into overcomers. The nonprofit organization serves youth between the ages of 14 and 24, whose past trauma and challenges have created barriers to becoming independent, healthy, successful adults.
Immerse Arkansas works with youth and families to address the underlying trauma resulting from abuse or neglect. We are looking for someone who fits that description to lead one of our programs working directly with youth from crisis ages 14-24. The OC Resident Life Facilitator is a full-time position based in Little Rock.
