About the station
The Station is the first young adult only homeless shelter in the state of Arkansas. By opening a shelter specifically designated for 18-24 year olds, Immerse provides a space that not only ensures safety for young people, but also cultivates opportunity for healing, growth, and transformation. The Station offers 15, private bedroom/bathroom suites along with onsite therapy, laundry, kitchen, and common areas for community building.
role DEscription
The Station Coach, working under direction of the Station Manager, supports the successful operation of Station programming, coaches youth from crisis toward healing and overcoming, and works with the Station team to ensure quality services. Primary duties include:
Activities & Supports - Develops and leads positive daily programming for Station youth including resident life, life skills, and recreation activities in a way that is effective, and engaging.
Coaching - Provide care management services and other shelter responsibilities, maintaining a consistent presence and positive relationship/trust with youth, and assisting in developing a youth-focused game plan.
Cross-Program Support - In cooperation with the entire Immerse Arkansas team, create a safety net throughout the various programs of Immerse to ensure all youth receive the best possible care and support, responding timely and appropriately to individual needs.
Team and Personal Development - Continually seek opportunities for growth, understanding, work/life balance to maintain health, both individually and as a member of the Immerse Arkansas team. Promote teamwork through collaboration, support, and communication.
Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s Degree (Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Human/Social Services or a related field)
Experience: 2+ years experience working with youth from crisis (in or aging out of foster care, adopted, homeless, trafficking victims, etc.)
Additional Requirements:
Has a strong desire to walk with youth ages 14-24 no matter what they are going through.
Familiarity with Little Rock area resources preferred.
Understanding of normal adolescent development.
Comfortable interacting with youth in informal settings.
Able to work in a fast-paced environment, and react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
Must have a team focused attitude.
Strong understanding of human development, trauma, and the process of healing for those with trauma and/or be committed to deepening understanding.
Must be available evenings, weekends and on-call as assigned, during identified days.
Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and be able to travel within the assigned region
Must be able to travel within the assigned region on a daily basis.
Maintain current certification in CPR, First Aid, and other certifications determined by the program.
Must successfully complete a required background check and drug screening.
Adherence to an ethical code as it relates to the particular professional field.
Must demonstrate a commitment to the value of cultural competency.
Complete at least 30 hours of training annually, relevant to the position.
Must be willing to work onsite as this is not a remote position.

Immerse Arkansas was founded in 2010 with the mission of helping transform youth from crisis into overcomers. The nonprofit organization serves youth between the ages of 14 and 24, whose past trauma and challenges have created barriers to becoming independent, healthy, successful adults.

We are looking for someone who fits that description to lead one of our programs working directly with youth from crisis ages 14-24. The Station Coach is a full-time position.
