“Immerse Arkansas opened a new office in Conway on Thursday, positioning it to help youth living in or aging out of Arkansas’s foster care system, as well as teens who have been adopted.

Immerse Executive Director Eric Gilmore said the nonprofit worked closely with the state’s Division of Children and Family Services (DCFS) and determined that Conway was an ideal location for the new facility.

“Conway’s collective optimism, deep sense of pride and collaborative atmosphere provide a fantastic foundation for youth from crisis to experience healing, growth and transformation,” he said.

Located at 1511 Caldwell Street, the house is the perfect place to teach youth life skills, Gilmore said, noting that the transitional program is specifically designed for teens ages 14-18 who are in foster care or who have been adopted. Immerse staff work with each teen and foster or adoptive family to meet their specific needs by providing them with training and one-on-one support.

“Immerse Arkansas is a long-time and valued partner of DHS,” Department of Human Services (DHS) Deputy Secretary Mischa Martin said. “Their work in the community to support youth is making a real impact every day, and we are thrilled that they are expanding that impact to more youth in the Faulkner County community.”

DCFS Director Tiffany Wright added: “Immerse Arkansas walks with youth and builds unconditional and lasting relationships, giving them the tools and the vision to restore their futures. We are honored to support their expansion into Conway and look forward to seeing continued healing, growth and transformation.”
