A Foundation for the Future
Naykah's journey is a powerful example of resilience, determination and growth. After first connecting with Immerse through The Station, she entered the LifeBASE transitional living program and spent the last 16 months working toward a more stable future. Along the way, she overcame significant personal challenges, earned both her CCMA and CNA certifications, secured reliable transportation and maintained consistent employment.
This spring, Naykah reached two more major milestones: exiting LifeBASE and being chosen by Immerse’s largest class ever to speak during our annual spring graduation celebration. Below is the speech she delivered, reflecting on her journey, the people who supported her and the hope she has for the future.

Good evening everyone,
My name is Naykah, and I am so grateful to be here tonight. First, I want to say how proud I am of every single person here tonight. To the graduates, we made it. And for a lot of us, getting here was not easy.
Some of us had obstacles people never saw. Some of us had moments where we questioned ourselves, our future, or whether we were capable of succeeding. But tonight proves something important: we are capable of more than we think.
Being part of Immerse Arkansas means many of us know what it feels like to face challenges and still keep moving forward. And that is exactly what tonight represents. For me personally, this journey has meant a lot. During my time here, I accomplished graduating from CNA school and CCMA school. Those experiences taught me discipline, patience, and confidence in myself. They showed me that I can set goals and actually achieve them — even when life gets hard.
Working toward careers in healthcare also reminded me how important compassion is. Sometimes the people who have gone through the hardest things become the people most capable of helping others heal. I also would not be standing here today without the people who supported me along the way.
I want to thank the staff at Immerse Arkansas for believing in me, encouraging me, checking on me, and reminding me to keep going even when things felt overwhelming. Thank you for every ride, every prayer, every conversation, and every moment you reminded me that I was capable of more. Your support, patience, and care truly made a difference in my life.
Sometimes people believe in us before we fully believe in ourselves, and that kind of support can change a person’s life. And I know I am not the only one here who has grown in ways people cannot always measure with a certificate or diploma. We all have victories worth celebrating tonight.
As we move into this next chapter, I want everyone to remember: You do not have to have everything figured out right now. Growth takes time. Healing takes time. Success takes time. But if we can make it this far, we can keep going.
To all of the 2026 graduates: Be proud of yourself. Be proud of the days you kept showing up. Be proud that you did not quit. The things we have been through did not stop us, they helped shape us into stronger people. Tonight is not just about where we came from.It is about where we are going.
Congratulations, graduates. We earned this.
Thank you.
